Shiraz
Shiraz is a city that captures the senses—famed throughout history for its romantic poetry, sun-drenched orange blossoms, and stunning architecture. It represents a timeless way of life centered around community and sharing. We chose our name to honor these beautiful traditions, bringing the authentic warmth, fragrant teas, and soulful hospitality of Shiraz straight to our local high street.
Persepolis
Persepolis was the magnificent heart of the ancient Persian Empire, renowned for its towering columns, monumental sculptures, and rich cultural legacy. Situated near Shiraz, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a powerful testament to timeless craftsmanship, majestic history, and the deep roots of our heritage.

Welcome to Café Shiraz! We are an Iranian family driven by a lifelong passion for aromatic teas, delicate pastries, and the legendary hospitality of our homeland. Noticing a lack of authentic Persian flavours in the beautiful city of York, we decided to create a cosy sanctuary to introduce our rich cuisine and culture. We specialise in exceptional specialty teas, traditional Persian cold drinks infused with rosewater and mint, and beautifully crafted sweets. Every recipe tells a story, and we cannot wait to share the authentic warmth, vibrant flavours, and soulful spirit of Persia with you.
An absolute gem in York! The saffron tea is heavenly, the pastries are incredibly fresh, and the Persian hospitality is so warm. Beautiful atmosphere—I’ll definitely be a regular!
